    Celia...

My answer is no. And if it continues as such I will no longer be participating on the Y!A boards. I don't mind the additional options when a thumbs up is earned, but I DO expect the same type of opportunity to express why a thumbs down may be warranted.

When an answer is cr@p...it is cr@p and usually other serious-minded members have some ability to warn or help an asker actually avoid poor advice as the route to take, especially when it could end up endangering an animal...a child...a loved one...one's self depending on which group category is involved.

The problem is roving groups of trolls or kids...or other idiots who come on the boards to cause havoc abusing the thumbs down option -- as their way to negate or help hide what is often a sound and valid answer, or to stalk a user they take a disliking to. It is not intended for that. It is intended to allow other members to guide the asker to valid, helpful content that provides appropriate suggestion or guidance to the question presented, while not posing harm or potential danger if acted upon by the asker.

    What new rating system?

I'm sorry I don't know what you're talking about. I can still thumbs up and thumbs down people. Nothing's changed...

It's probably good that people can't give thumbs down any more. It was mostly used by 13 year old douchebag boys who would sit there and thumbs down everybody on every question they could

It's useful, but I hate how they got rid of negative feedback.
