Greensboro NC to San Fransisco CA, Travel light and use common sense, as in don't go stretch your legs on a stop with some weirdo you met on the bus, stay in the station, some are very nice, have breakfast lunch or dinner stock up on drinks and snacks, chances are you may meet some very interesting people on your trip, if an express your stops will be very brief anyway, books, or other entertainment are good, as the other poster suggested keep your ID, money and other valuables in your pocket, your front pocket if possible, that one cant be picked. other than that enjoy the sights, I actually had a pretty good time,

i am outgoing so i generally enjoyed it being alone. although i got to talking to a guy next to me in a all grey sweat suit with only one trash bag full of luggage. and he told me that he just got out of prison and was heading home to dayton ohio. that was a little spooky.

Keep your wallet in your inside pocket, don't put anything valuable in your bags.
Enjoy. It's not dangerous, it's not scary. It's just boring.

It never scared me, but the passengers are definitely common as dirt. They were always nice.
