A semi permeable membrane is a thin barrier that allows only certain sized molecules through it.

Imagine a net; it only lets small things through.

Cells, for example, have a thin membrane around them, the cell membrane. This is semi-permeable; only allowing small molecules such as H2O, O2 and CO2 through, but not large molecules like starch.

    Hope this helps!

cellular membranes are semi permeable, meaning that some molecules can circulate into and out of a cellular interior the process the membrane. Osmosis is a sort of passive delivery the place water strikes with the aid of a permeable membrane shifting from a answer with a extreme concentration to a answer with a low concentration.
