Can i use two EI transformer instead of one toroidal transformer?

Help on my sony 5.1multimedia speaker system. My toroidal transformer have died and i need a replacement. But i'm not able to find it any where in market..

so my ques..is can i use two EI transformer instead of one toroidal trans.??

Input: AC 230V/50Hz

Output: -12.5v @ 1.5amp

-9v @ 2amp

    Yes, either will work purely from a voltage/current perspective. Keep in mind though that the advantages of the toroidal are size, radiated field, and noise, all somewhat important in an audio system. Good luck!
