What to do for an infected thumb?

A few days ago I noticed my thumb hurt. I just thought it was an ingrown nail so I let it go. Then the right side of my nail turned yellow and pussy so i put neosporin and a bandaid on it for 2 days. Then it scabbed and the scab fell off and it is pussing. Right now i'm soaking it in epson salt but it is burning!

I have had this problem many times with my finger... all you have to do is:

. soak your finger in hot water(as hot as you can stand) and epson salt

. put neosporin and a bandaid on infected area

*you are pretty much doing everything right... but it takes a few days

*I asked my doctor what to do for this and she said to do the same thing that I described above. However, if it is severley infected (doesn't get better in a week) then you should go to the doctor and he/she will prescribe an antibiotic for you so you and your thumb can recover quickly :)

Hope your thumb gets better soon :) Good Luck
