Syria does not actually have a large amount of oil they are ranked 31st in the world in oil production with less then a half of a percent of the worlds oil (the State of California alone has and extracts more oil per day then Syria). Syria has been kicked out of the Arab League and were never a part of OPEC so have little to no effect on world oil.
