Chewing tobacco and cancer?

I chewed tobacco for 6 months and quit. Should I be worried about mouth cancer? Can mouth cancer come on quick or does it take a long time?

There is a genetic component to all cancers. Some people are highly susceptible while other are resistant. There is also an exposure related component....the longer or the greater the exposure, the more likely you are to develop the disease. When you put those two together, there is no way to predict with certainty that you are either in the clear or doomed. Keep having annual oral cancer screenings at your dentist.
