Is this a Spider or a Bee?
Okay so the other day I went to go chill on the couch. And on the floor was what looked like a spider on a pillow. So me, naturally being afraid of spiders, I ran as fast as I could. It was like 3 inches wide and had a white back with black spots on it. I couldnt tell how many legs it had it looked like 8. I told my stepdad about it and he went down there to kill it and he said it was a bee. It didnt look like a bee cause it was HUGE. Not as big as those killer ones in Asia though. But um im kind of confused on what it is. My dad said it could have been a Wolf Spider or a Daddy Long leg. Um I live in Utah if that helps any. :) Thanks for any help
If it was a spider, what kind of spider do you think it would be?
Im not really sure what it is. It could be Neoscona Oaxacensis, but like its whole body was connected, and then the legs were spread out. I'll try a classification key...
Closest thing I could find to my description is a Johnson Jumping Spider ( http://www.insectidentification.org/insect-descrip... )

From your description, I will say it's a spider. Because bees can't grow to 3 inches wide. Most bees are barely an inch long.
Source(s): I use to live in Australia, where there are a lot of massive spiders and all sorts of bugs. - 9 years ago
I done a little research on the web and from your description I managed to pull out one spider that looked similar, Neoscona Oaxacensis, it's three inches wide and has a white back with black dots, which is similar. Like many have said it couldn't be a bee because it's too big, but you never know, because my dad has saw a 6ft owl as a kid when he went camping.. (No lie)
Lol hope it helped
