To see it all you need to buy a passport which costs 18€ during the week and 25€ on weekends. It's nicer on the weekends when you can see the musical fountains, there's music all around the gardens.

Book the ticket in advance on the website of the palace, this will save you one hour queueing. Try to go early in the morning, before the crowds arrive.
