What about long term accomodations Angeles City and/or Subic?

Cannot seem to find much information about Angeles City and Subic.

Thinking about going in November to March, instead of to Thailand.

Is it worth going to?

Anything interesting happening?

Any long term rentals by the month, if I find it interesting.

Where are the areas in town for apartments, etc long term.

Weekly rentals (hotels and guest houses)? Probably near the airport, correct?

Safe to use your room, or rent a short time hotel when entertaining?

Update:

For: INDEPENDANT MARK2

I am a war graves cemetery photographer. My primary mission is to document the grave at Clark and Subic and post the headstones on the internet at Find A Grave.

I will be documenting the ones in Manila also.

I completed the ones at Kanchanaburi, Thailand famed for the Bridge of the River Kwai.

I may avail myself to the LEGAL red light district.

At the age of 73 I do not need you to teach me morals for either Clark, Subic and Manila.

You can find a bunch of info about Clark and Subic here :https://www.clarksubicmarketing.com/

I think you will discover like I did that Thailand is not really an option anymore because they have tightened up their Retirement and tourist visa requirements. One the other hand the Philippines has loosened up their reuirments and there is not nearly as much of a language barrier problem.

For short term the hotels onbase are a reasonable option. For the longet term they are renting out the onbase housing units at a reasonable cost. There is also plenty of offbase housing.

I was there last July and the bases have been surprisingly well maintained. There is also talk about the possibility of reopening the bases due to China. Look here :http://wfol.tv/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&i...

Most of the hotels in Angeles City are safe (security guards at the entrances) and will make you a deal on a weekly rental. They are widely scattered downtown and on the outskirts of town. Everything's fairly near the airport, 5 miles or less.

AC is an interesting place if you're into the clubs and ladies. Otherwise, not much there.

I walked through the Clark American Cemetery a few years ago. The A.C. VFW keeps it well-maintained. I was expecting to see a lot of WWII era graves but most seemed to be from the early 1900s.

You can take one of the Clark Jeepneys from SM Mall for under 10 pesos. They all go past the Cemetery, which is only half a mile from the old Clark main gate and SM Mall. Or walk it if you're in good shape and have a hat & water. The cemetery is actually closer to the hotels in downtown AC than it is to the hotels on Clark itself. The only hotels I'm familiar with on Clark are the Blu Bianco (old Air Force VOQ) and the rather expensive Holiday Inn. You get more bang for your buck (in more ways than one) by staying downtown or along Perimeter Road/Don Juico. I don't think there's much nightlife on Clark.

    Angeles and Subic.

Sex tourist destinations and nothing else to want to go there for.

I hope wherever you end up is massively expensive and the place is a dump. Sorry, no one wants to be in either of those places for anything but cheap sex. The difference between me and others is Im not afraid to say it and Yahoo terms and pathetic conditions be damned.

I just WISH that for once when questions like this come up, Filipinos themselves would jump on the pervert foreigner. Filipinos know, ex pats know and we all know those places are just brothels and nothing else and we should ALL stop encouraging anyone to go there. But NO--the pull of the Peso is too strong.

EDIT You dont need to be taught morals but at 73 years old may avail yourself of legal brothels??WTF?

I believe you should be ready to find a room, but I don't have a exact recommendation. I stayed in a single room with shared bathrom at the backyard court inn for £forty six.00/night time with breakfast incorporated. You'll be competent to get a shrink expense at this lodge or one of the crucial others in the Bayswater area, if it is for long-time period accommodation. I don't forget one of the most London metro newspapers had ads for a property with affordable room rentals, however can't recall the identify. Try asking your query on a journey discussion board, akin to Lonely Planet's Thorntree.
