Need a REAL expert! 05 Ford Exped having a lot of problems!?

Our 2005 Ford Expedition has been acting up for a while. Its become almost undrivable. Its only got 140K miles on it. Now from a stop when you press on the gas, it wont even go into gear until it revs up to 2250 RPM. And if its close to 3000 Rpm when it finally engages the whole car jolts (Obviously). And yes i have checked the trans fluid! im lookin for more detailed answers than that. If thats the extent of ur answers, please dont even comment.

I managed to borrow and OBD2 reader and I spent all day yesterday using it. Not really sure what it all means. It threw a cpl codes at me that have probably been stored in the computer for a cpl months. P0345 the cam postion sensor, the crank snsor code and a couple more codes i cant remember. So i erased the codes.

My wife took it to a friends house across town and when she came back i looked for new codes. It did give me 2 new ones. P2106 Throttle Actuator control system (whatever that is), and P0720 Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit. What exactly IS the problem here??

Also, Its always ran really rough when idling if the AC is on.

Also, when your backing up, like if ur parking, it will start to idle extremely rough and it dies half the time.

Also, it always sounds like a deisel engine. Whether its cold or hot, doesnt matter. Always has that deisel sound to it.

Those 3 problems its always had ever since i got the car. But i can deal with those, kinda. Its the not going into gear thing that has me worried. Dont wanna screw up the transmission or nothin.

Today I took out the MAF sensor and cleaned it with MAF cleaner. Also took out the VCT solenoids and made sure there wasnt gunk clogging up the screen. All of it looked brand new, but sprayed the VCTs with some berrymans anyways. Then cleared the codes one more time, took it for a drive. Car still runs like crap.

Anybody got any ideas as to why its running like this? I can deal with the rough idle, but ive got to get that Not going into gear-thing fixed ASAP!

The speed sensor is the transmission speed output sensor, note it only has one sensor for the speed sensor circuit on the transmission and they run about 50 bucks at autozone but shop around bec you can get them cheaper. The first things I recommend that you change is the speed sensor and then if that doesn't fix it change both the camshaft and crankshaft sensors but also check their connections and wiring bec bad wiring or weak connections can cause those codes and other codes to appear. It may not hurt to buy the new speed sensor but first try cleaning the old sensor, look on youtube, etc for do it yourself vids. The other sensor is the throttle position sensor , they run about 85 bucks at autozone but again shop around and check the wiring harness's especially the harness's close to the engine or extreme heat.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way if you register for free online with autozone.com they offer free diagrams/schematics for different vehicles and you may find some info on those circuits or try the part source stores they print out free diagrams or buy a haynes or factory service manual from a parts store or ebay etc.Note if the speed sensor is faulty it will cause the high rpms etc, plus it could be why you're getting all the other codes too.

probable, however the authentic underlying reason has to do as plenty with American hard artwork because it does with administration. hard artwork expenses have priced the business corporation's products out of authentic looking opposition on the situation of the products grant. even nevertheless, Ford might desire to be poised for a monster, marketplace changing comeback. no one dismantles a championship group interior the midst of their fulfillment (different than possibly Huizenga), yet as quickly as a collection starts rebuilding there is skill for authentic replace. In a like way, now that they might desire to make alterations, giving people good, gasoline powerful, eco-friendly transportation might desire to maintain the business corporation. Why might all of us pay $20K or extra for a motor vehicle that a) receives worse gasoline mileage than what they have now and b) has a guarantee of under 10/one hundred? confident, Ford might desire to be in complication. So is the marketplace.
