Having an eating disorder on your medical record.?

What are the consequences of having an eating disorder on you medical record? What sort of things would you be turned away from or not allowed to join? Does this go away after a certain amount of years recovered?

It will stay on your records but only you and your doctor know it is on there, only you and doctors are able to see your mental health records. It will not stop you from doing anything unless you tell the employer etc. No one will ever know unless you tell them other than you and your doctors.

I have had eating disorders for 5 years and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the job I want or do the university course I want however it will not effect me as long as I am healthy enough to work.

I didn't have to tell them but they would have found out anyway as I needed to be weighed to be checked as fit for work and I am 2 stone underweight.

It doesn't affect anything. Your medical records are completely private. No one can see them without your written permission. No it never goes away but then no one can see it so it doesn't matter.
