UCAS application help please?

Hi there. I am a mature student hoping to study at cardiff uni, occupational therapy, I am starting an open university course in october which finishes in june 2013, which will enable me to gain the necessary ucas points. The deadline for the course is in January 2013, but the application process is now open, is there any benefit of applying sooner Rather than later? when do the university receive and make a decision on applications, i would have thought after the deadline, im all very confused.

Nearly everyone applying for university does so before they have their actual grades. All school children are applying by the January of their final year so I do not see why it should be any different for you so long as you have someone to write your UCAS reference.

You could check with the university just to make sure that you are doing things by the book but I suspect that it would be beneficial for you to apply by the January of the year in which you want to commence your degree studies.

Applying too late is not good because the vast majority of places have already been allocated.

    Best of luck!
