if a property owner adds me to the title of his property in california, is that ok? he is my uncle, he is still paying mortgage on this property for ten more years...he lives in it alone. his kids lives out of country and not interested and my cousins (his kids) are in good terms and had fun childhood memories. there is a living trust made 15 years ago without my name on it. What are my legal part?

First of all, I am NOT an attorney. In my experience with property ownership, it depends HOW you are added in the title ie joint tenancy or if you are only granted a percentage of the property. If he wants to add you to the title, make sure you go to a reputable title company and get it property notarized and recorded so that there are no misunderstandings in the future with the trust beneficiaries.

If the owner of a property in California adds someone to the title with a deed, that someone is now part owner.

Just make sure there is an appendage to you being put on the title. Write something up stating your role as co-owner. Basically how much money you are putting in toward morgage. With those facts stated, they will surely go along with you being put on title as co-owner. *Hope this helps.:)
