I have Firefox and had Google search engine as my main engine, but somehow it switched to AOL?

I have Firefox and I chose Charter.net as my homepage. So, I have 2 search bars on top...a little one and a big one...I want google to be in the long bar like before not just in the little search bar on the right with magnifying glass. How do I get it to be in the long, main, navigation bar like before?? I don't know how it got switched to AOL, but I HATE AOL!!! Please explain like I'm a 5 year old...I'm not the best with computers! Thank you!

    Hi, Sexy Matador :)

You can change default search engine in Firefox for the address bar and/or search bar (depending on which version of the web browser you are using)

What was the last thing you downloaded?

When you download software like antivirus or media player or anything, during the download process it will try to get you to "get this (in your case AOL) search toolbar" and unless you pay close attention and UNclick it before you finish your download it will install.

Just go on your computer to add/remove programs and you can find it on a list to uninstall.

    YourFine got it right.

Go to the Start menu, click on Control Panel and you will find where you can uninstall the AOL program problem. Just take your time and uninstall the right one.

    Then, go get some cookies.

(You said to treat you like a 5 year old.)

On my window, I have a search box to the right of the URL box (I have yahoo set as default), but if you click on the little black arrow to the left of the search box you can choose what search engine you want from a drop down list. Also, you can always install the google toolbar (if it's not already installed). Then all of your searches can be done in the google search box.
