People will take you more seriously if you hold the car wash in a public place, like a parking lot. You should consider places like Wal-Mart or Target (large parking lots) but also think about places that are highly visible. Maybe there is a public park or another type of store near you, one that is in a convenient spot and easy to see. This is important so that you'll attract customers that just happened upon the car wash. Most importantly, get permission to host the car wash in your selected location. Ask a store manager or city official, depending where you decide to do it. They will usually be more amenable to the idea if you tell them where the money is going.

Make sure you advertise in as many ways as possible. Print flyers or posters, and place them around town. Look for community bulletin boards. Make a facebook event. Run an ad in the local newspaper (or write a letter to the editor). Make sure you do this all in advance. The more people that attend, the more money you can raise.

Make sure you have enough volunteers. In general, you'll need at least five people, so gather up your friends and family. You'll also need to make sure you have the proper supplies (hose, bucket, sponges, soap, etc.). Consider buying bright poster board to attract customers on the day of the car wash.

When choosing an organization, it's important to consider where their funds go. If you want to donate for cancer research, find an organization that primarily funds research. There are other organizations that primarily fund treatments, and still others that spend most of their money on activism or awareness. Most non-profits are required to report where their funds go, so look on different websites to ensure your money is going to a worthy place. If the organization you choose spends most of its money on operating costs, you may want to reconsider, and choose one that funds research or treatment. In my personal experience, I feel organizations should be using 75% or more of their income to directly help the cause.

One final note: it's generally a good idea to tell people the car wash is free, with a suggested donation of $5. You may get a few people who actually take advantage of the "free" offer, but most people will pay the $5 - or more. At a car wash I was volunteering at once, someone paid $20 because they were passionate about the cause.

I consider you in this... we are looking to retailer for a vacation spot marriage ceremony, however we are preserving off for over a 12 months so we will be able to retailer sufficient. Ideas I've attempted ago for a few coins (none of those are rather going to position a dent in $10,000 even though!) : * Garage/backyard revenue, or as any one else acknowledged, promote matters you don't want on-line. * Look into study stories in technology departments at regional universities - they mainly most effective take a couple of hours of a while, a few questionaires, and also you get the cash at of completion. * Pet sitting/apartment sitting does not require plenty of time, and mainly will pay decently. Unfortunately, you could emerge as wanting to get a mortgage. I'm guessing your loved ones are not able to support? What approximately getting a mortgage FROM a loved ones member, telling them you can pay it off in x# years, with low curiosity - like two%. If now not, uncover a bank card with the bottom curiosity price viable, and pay greater than the minimal cost whilst the charges begin rolling in.
