I had pericarditis. My doctor said I can't play for one more week. Can I play tennis now?
One week ago I was diagnosed with pericarditis based on the EKG reading. I took Ibuprofen for several days and today I had another EKG and everything was good. My doctor says I still need another week of rest before I could play tennis. Can I still play tennis now?

Pericarditis can range from mild cases that get better on their own to life-threatening cases. The condition can be complicated by significant fluid buildup around the heart and poor heart function.
The outcome is good if the disorder is treated promptly. Most people recover in 2 weeks to 3 months. However, pericarditis may come back.
Please take sufficient rest in order to avoid recurrent pericarditis.
