How many chickens fit in a volvo?
My mate has it at 58, but I think the number is closer to 65. Any help?
Standard size chickens, alive and the volvo is a S40.

the standard chicken [ laying hen] is about 41/2 pounds so about 120 but it would be far easier to transport them as eggs. egg-crates stack easier, with poop being less of a concern.
if you choose live, please use a rental car. fleet owners are used to cleaning up crap.
so which one is going to drive and which is to navigate and does the driving chicken hold a current drivers license [while these can be obtained by mail from the city of new-york, only cab driver's licsnses are available]

The interior volume of a Volvo S40 is about 100 cu ft.
so, if we assume that no space is required for the driver, I would say you can get a minimum of 2 chickens per cubic foot, which means 200 chickens.
In practice I think you would remove all the seats and build levels out of thick chicken wire (with hay if you felt nice.)
I would bet that given time you could convert the S40 into a chicken transporter that could happily hold 200 chickens + driver.

well that depends on a lot of things. what model of volvo is it? are the chickens supposed to be buckled in? are they supposed to be shoved in on top of each other?. are they alive or dead? are they chopped into chicken parts and boxed? is there a driver in the car? if so will the car be driving and the driver will need space to see out the windows? are you going to put some chickens in the trunk and under the hood? will you be using storage container on the roof racks?
you must provide more details if you want a serious answer.

Did the chickens go to college in the '60s? If so, wouldn't a VW be more appropriate, or a phone booth? Are they fryers or roasters?

How have you managed to quantize the "standard chicken"? Just curious. :)
