I took my English regents in January 2012, and I got a 77 :(
Everything was pretty simple, but I wasn't sure what books to use for the critical lense.

My interpretation was:
When people lie, fear takes them over in full because they are unsure of what the outcome will be of their lie. All they can do is sit back and wait to see what will happen. Until then , they will be filled with fear and anxiety waiting to see how their lie effects their environment.
The two books I used to back this up were, To kill a Mockingbird, where Mayella Ewell lied about being raped and how fear took her over when Atticus started to defend the case because she was unsure of how far she could let her lies get, and Romeo and Juliet where Romeo and Juliet lied about their hidden relationship to the community leading them to the fear the fact that their lives will be placed in danger.
