New book series to read?
I have just recently finished my book series and I would like to find a new series to start. I have already read the Hunger games, the Uglies, the house of night, twilight, vampire academy, and Pretty Little Liars or what has come out of those series so far. I enjoy YA novels with some mystery in it. I am a guy but as you can see from the books i have read i don't see a real boundary in literature....Though i don't want to read just straight up romance novels. I would like for there to be another main plot and there can be some romance mixed in as long as it doesn't take over the whole series. Any suggestions would be helpful. I would also prefer if it was a series and not just a single book. Oh! and I read Percy Jackson and Maze Runner series also. :) thank you
Thank you guys for the suggestions but yes i have read harry potter.

As a major Vampire Academy/Hunger Games fan, here are some books/series I recommend to you. :)
***
The Demon Trapper's Daughter by Jana Oliver ♥
*Soul Thief
*Forgiven ♥
*Foretold - releases December 11, 2012
Note: I LOVE this series and I'm dying for book 4!! It's really too bad that it'll be the last in the series. It's told in 3rd person POV and you get to see things from both Riley's and Beck's perspectives. Seriously, check this series out. It's soooooo good.
Storm by Brigid Kemmerer
*Spark - releases August 28, 2012
Note: This is about four brothers who get into tons of trouble because they can control the elements, and a girl who gets mixed up in their crazy business. I'd suggest you read the short story, Elemental, first though because it's a prequel to Storm. Also told in 3rd person.
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
*The Golden Lily
*The Indigo Spell - releases February 12, 2013
Note: This is the spin-off series to Vampire Academy. It's told from Sydney's perspective and features some of the side characters from the VA series.
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
*Unravel Me - releases February 5, 2013
Note: I really enjoyed this book. Juliette seems sorta wimpy at first, but she becomes pretty kickass by the end. Book 2 doesn't release for a while, but there's also Warner's novella, Destroy Me, coming out in October to look forward to.
Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder ♥
*Outside In
Note: I absofreakinglutely loved Inside Out. Trella is yet another kickass heroine.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
*Days of Blood and Starlight - releases November 6, 2012
Note: Read this. It was awesome. Involves angels. And wishes. I can't wait for the next one.
Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder ♥
*Magic Study ♥
*Fire Study
Note: If you like fantasy you'll probably like this. Yelena was such a strong heroine; she learns how to fight and use a bo staff.
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo ♥
*Siege and Storm - TBA 2013
Note: I read this recently and thought it was INCREDIBLE. Definitely one of my favorite books of 2012.
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers ♥
*Dark Triumph - TBA 2013
Note: Another one of my favorite books this year!! Come on, assassin nuns? That's freaking awesome!! It's French history with fantasy and magic tied in. This does have a bit more of a romance but it's mostly political intrigue. I loved it. :)
I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga
Note: I bought this recently and I've been dying to read it. It sounds like a really good thriller/mystery. The main character is a guy and it's told in 3rd person POV.
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
*Girl of Nightmares - releases August 7, 2012
Note: This was so much fun. If you like spooky ghost stories, you'll like this. I can't wait to find out what happens next! This is told from a male POV.
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
Note: I think it's about a vampire pretending to be human in order to find a cure... I haven't read anything by this author, but her Iron Fey series has been really popular.
The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda
Note: I haven't read this... but it sounded good. I've seen it compared to Hunger Games but you probably shouldn't have such high expectations. *shrug* I think it's about a human who pretends to be a vampire... so like the opposite of The Immortal Rules. :P
This Is Not a Test by Courtney Summers
Note: Zombies. I don't know about you, but I love zombies. I want this book soooo bad... I've been waiting months to read it. I've only been hearing good things about it so I'm really excited about reading it.
Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry
*Dust & Decay
*Flesh & Bone - releases September 11, 2012
Note: More zombies. The main character is a guy. I started the first book but I haven't finished it yet.
The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsch
Note: The main character in this is also a guy. I actually haven't read it yet but I would really like to!! With a recommendation from Suzanne Collins (author of Hunger Games) I'd say it's definitely worth checking out.

Percy Jackson is an awesome series. There is a sort of sequel series to that called Heroes of Olympus. Also, I've just finished reading the last book in a series called Starfire Angels by Melanie Nilles which was reaaly good. Also try the Alex Rider or Cherub series if you want something more sort of military. Hope i helped in some way! :)

(all of these are YA)
Wolves of Mercy Falls series - Maggie Stiefvater
This is about werewolves, romance, and just an
awesome mixture of the two. First book is called
Shiver.
Mortal Instruments series - Cassandra Clare
Amazing series. Monster hunter type of thing
with some romance and really awesome stuff.
First book is City of Bones.
Fallen series by Lauren Kate - I HATE these.
People think Twilight is bad? God, these
are WORSE. But...many people seem to enjoy
them, for an unfathomable reason. It's about
fallen angels and I guess romance, though I
call it crap. First book is called Fallen.
That's basically it. If you go into the YA
section of Barnes and Noble, you'll find
these very easily and you'll probably find
others like them.

Do you read epic fantasy? I recommend it. There is a little romance and a lot of action!
Epic fantasy books:
The name of the wind( Kingkiler Chronicles #1) by Patrick Rothfuss
Eye of the world( Wheel of time #1) by Robert Jordan
The Fellowship of the Ring (Lord of the Rings #1)by J.R.R. Tolkien
The Magicians' Guild (Black Magician Trilogy #1 ) by Trudi Canavan
There are a lot, lot more, but I don't want to suffocate you!
YA books (not so much romance):
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
Darkness becomes her by Kelly Keaton
Angelfall by Susan Ee
Morganville vampires series by Rachel Caine
Hope you like it!

Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus (both by Rick Riordan)
The Gallagher girls - has some romance, especially the first book, but it's okay (Ally Carter)
Ingo series? (Helen Dunsmore)
The infernal Devices Series is a prequel to the Mortal Instruments series and they are both awesome (cassandra Clare)
And these are quite romance-y but the Halo series is really really good too (Alexandra Adornetto)
I know heaps of good books, but less series haha :)
Hope i helped :D

You should read:
1. The Space Trilogy by C.S. Lewis (series)
2. The Young Unicorns by Madeleine L'Engle
The Young Unicorns (a suspense novel) is the third book in a series but can stand alone.
I hope you enjoy! Have fun reading.

Women of the otherworld series! Its action packed there is not a moment where there is not suspense! There is romance mixed in, but its hardly the point of the books. I know it's says "women" in there but I promise it's not a chick book! It's action packed and very good(:

Harry Potter is just straight up awesome, if you haven't read it already.
Also, I think it's cool that you don't see a boundary in literature.
