RHH: What Other Hip Hop Albums/Songs to You Think Most Deserve to Be Enshrined in the Library of Congress...?
If you were unaware (and this is kind of old news), Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" single was recently entered into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress last month. They honor recordings that are "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant". So far the only hip hop recordings in there are Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet, Tupac Shakur's "Dear Mama," De La Soul's 3 Feet High and Rising, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five's "The Message." So if you had to elect three songs/albums to be included into the National Recording Registry that haven't already been entered, what would they be?

Gang Starr - Moment of Truth
Big - Juicy
Audio Two - Top Billin'
All three are extremely important to hip-hop, and music in general. They will probably never add NWA, but they should, if they're talking about culturally significant music.

The track has to be CULTURALLY SIGNIFICANT. That's the key. So that being said, no learn age tracks should be entered are... * Drum roll please
1) Fight the Power - This should be obvious
2) F*ck the Police - Shows the stand against abusive police
3) My Philosophy (Boogie Down Productions) - Significant in KRS's overall helping of African Americans
I may have missed one. I want to throw an Eminem one in there, but it's too soon!
