Getting an instrumental?
Hi, I was just wondering if I wanted an instrumental for a song which is already released however not a single but an album track, would I be able to contact the record label to receive it? Only for personal use (recording a cover). If so could I ask for an acapella too? :) Thanks

You could try, but I guarantee there's no way they'll release it to you.
Just think about it. You're an artist like, say, Taylor Swift or Adam Lambert or Justin Beiber or take your pick. Would you really want your record company to release instrumental and/or a capella versions of your songs for people at home to just mess around with for personal use? Makes no sense.
When you hear long samples of songs, chances are that the artist received permission to use the samples. The issue with sampling has always been royalties. No record company will let any samples go until there's an explicit legal arrangement made regarding royalties.
