Having a major problem with my gums?

I woke up this morning and found that the upper-right side of my gums has swollen. This happened two other times in my life. Each time the pain was unbearable and I had to use either hot or cold water to numb the pain. After about a week of excruciating torture and the swelling increasing, I was finally able to break open my gum and a lot of blood and pus came flowing out for about five minutes straight. What can I do to stop this from happening again. Since I have a low budget, a trip to the dentist is out of the question.

It sounds to me like you have an inner root infection or an infection in the gum. Depending on where you live see if you can by corsodyl mouthwash. It treats infections, ulcers and even gum/mouth disease. If you don't think you can buy it in the US see a pharmacist to see if they have anything of the similar quality. If it isn't sorted a week after you've started this treatment the only option id emergency extraction or dental appointment as they have to remove the underlying cause.
