Hp pavilion dv6000 not charging. Please help!!!!!?

A few months ago my daughter and my nephew were playing by my laptop and all of a sudden my dc port started smoking. I immediately plugged the charger out and then after a few minutes replugged it. The laptop was done and was charging but then it stopped. I've tried replacing the dc/USB board and the charger and with no luck. I don't have warranty so if anyone can help me with this issue it'd be super great. I'm in college and need my laptop. Can't afford to get a new one... Thanks

Update:

The laptop does come on if the battery has been charged in a different laptop. But when I plug the charger into the laptop the blue light that usually indicates it doesn't come on. It doesn't even charge. Any suggestions ? I don't want to have to get a whole new mother board since I've already spend money replacing the power jack

Did one of the children trip or jerk on the power adapter cord ?

USB has nothing to do with the power adapter port jack pin but a hard pull or jerk can break the power port jack pin lose from the mother board and cause loss of power and charging of the laptop.

A bad power adapter, bad battery or lose battery, corroded battery connector pins, lose power port jack pin all can cause the problem.

Does the laptop power on running on battery only and or plugged in ?

Does the operating system load ?

there is the two a situation with the charger itself, or the charging receptacle on the workstation. attempt charging it with a distinctive charger, and if that would not artwork, it is in all possibility the charging port. terrific of success.
