How do I block CONTACT requests in yahoo messenger?
I want to know how to block ADD CONTACT requests in yahoo messenger. I know how to block chat requests already. I want to know how to prevent people from requesting me to add them to my contacts. again, this is not to block chat requests. its to block ADD AS CONTACT requests, in yahoo messenger. I am inundated with requests to add strangers and scammers as contacts.

I tend to think all you can do is put everyone who is not on your contact list in your ignore list. Click messenger top left in the messenger window scroll down click preferences then scroll and click ignore list. In the next window you will see where to add people to your ignore list or you could check ignore anyone not on my friend's list. then click o.k.

in case you desire to disable the IM function of Yahoo Mail substitute your status - next on your call to 'Offline' via utilising the dropbox arrow or putting your cursor on the smiley and choosing "sign out of Chat"
