Filling Nitrogen gas in car tyres?

Recently my tyre fitting workshop person advised to get my car tyres filled with Nitrogen gas instead of Air as it gives better millage. Anyone has filled their vehicle tyres with Nitrogen gas and seen benefits? If so what are they? How often do you go to get your tyre pressure checked?

Nitrogen really has no benefit to the average car owner unless they consistanly drive at speeds in excess of 150 MPH. It's just a way for tire shops to fleece more money out of their customers.

When you fill your tires with normal air you are getting 80% nitrogen in them anyway.

    Dear Dev,

Filling Nitrogen gas in tyres will not increase mileage at all. Instead of that you should have keep checking the Air pressure on regular interval. Say once in a week type.

Low air pressure will increase rolling resistance on road, which reduce the mileage.

Nitrogen Gas will help your tyre to keep cool, specially used on concrete roads, were tyre heat up on high speed and bust.

    choice is your's dude.

Ian F is correct. Atmospheric air is virtually 80% nitrogen and the only improvement you'll recieve is a lighter pockets. Most air compressors have a exact amount of oil carried over within the discharge air and that may assault the rubber from the within, but it is so negligible tat you'll be able to be to your 2nd set of recaps before internal harm becomes an dilemma. With a view to get nitrogen, air needs to be distilled and purified from oil-free compressors, so they can legally tout the truth that it's pure. It rather comes down tyo - do you wish to have to send your youngsters to tuition or a person else's.
