Lance Venice 150cc Scooter - Electrical Problem?

Hey! I fired up the scooter to go to the grocery store, came out and had no electrical charge, and wasn't able to get it going. I wasn't able to attempt a kick start because it is broken. I spent some time last night taking a look at all the connections with a multimeter - the battery is not dead and attempted to check everything i could to find where any readings stopped but to this point can't. Any recommendations on what else to check with the multimeter? I've tried to google this and a common theme seems to be the regulator or stator.

Also, on a side note, it poured on saturday night and there is a crack on the cover over the battery which may have let water seep into the cabinet that holds it.

Thanks!

Good News! Not the regulator or stator -- that happens when you kill the battery. You said the battery is not dead.

A multimeter is not the easiest, a 12V test light probe is, such as: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/22-13035&sco...

Do you have a circuit wiring page. Can't fix with being able to check points. Follow the wires from the starter relay.

    Hi there,

It could be that because it rained things have got damp and it's not working right. Leave it somewhere dry for a few days to dry and then try again - if it still doesn't start then you coud have a problem. It could be your battery / starter motor or something has got damp.

You can try tracing the current and make sure it is getting from the battery to the starter and so on. That will tell you where there is an issue.

Alternatively, you could get a mechanic to look at it - there are plenty who come out to your house who are very reasonably priced.

    Good luck fixing it!
