Unlocking a hard Drive?

I have an acer aspire hard drive with appx. 20 gigs *denied* to me.

How do i go about gaining access?

Please note: The drive is no longer in the computer as I have replaced it. I just want to know if i can access the recovery partition so I can format the whole drive

    You can use Parted Magic to delete the whole recovery partition from your hard drive, but only do this if you are sure that you do not need it any more, for example because you have a restore disc.
