I just received a letter that my credit report is ready but...?

I never requested anything about my credit report. Is someone trying to get access to this and should I do something to find out who it might be, but I'm not even sure where to start. Or should I just disregard it? The letter is supposedly from "Experian" which is a credit report place after googling it, but it's all very sketchy.

Experian is one of the three credit bureaus. That letter is probably just plain old junk mail soliciting you to sign up for credit monitoring service by offering a free credit report. Definitely not an indication of ID theft.

If you want to get your free annual credit reports from each of the three credit bureaus, use AnnualCreditReport.com. This is the site mandated by the FTC and is the only one that won't require you to sign up for monitoring services.

Google Experian and tell them about this. This could be an attempt at identity theft.
