I am going to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic for the first time in January 2013. Does anyone have any tips? Referring to the people or the customs at the resorts.....Is it customary to tip at the all inclusive resorts? The information says that the gratuities are included but do the serving personnel see any tips for themselves that way? Should we tip each one separately as well? Also, any suggestions what to see while we're out there, outside of the resort?

Or tips about the weather? I see that the humidity makes it feel a lot hotter than the temperatures. Like right now it's 36C but "feels like" 49C!!!?

Tip if you want but it's not required with all inclusive. Take the cable car up the mountain overlooking the city. Take a tour and see how Dominicans live. If at all possible fly into POP not an airport hours away. It is not humid in the winter, it's perfect.
