What are some ways to stop hair pulling?

I pull my hair.. obviously. Almost all my eyelashes & eyebrows are gone.. and I just can't stop. It's too hard. Sometimes I don't even know I am doing it. I just need to find a way to stop. I look horrible. And I can't stand looking like this everyday. I need to stop this or else they will never grow back :P Please help.

Well, this hair pulling has turned into a habit that you obviously do subconsciously. It'll be really hard to get yourself to stop, but hopefully you have scared yourself to the point where you really want to. If you feel like you need to constantly be doing something with your hands, get a stress-ball or even a rubix cube. Anything to keep your hands from pulling your hair out! Much luck! :)

well, the technical term for that is trichotillomania. i do the same with my eyebrows, but once i get to the point where i am embarrassed of how they look, i just have to force myself to stop touching them. As soon as you notice you are touching your hair or lashes or eyebrows just immediately put your hands down and recognize what you are doing. You may want to wear a rubber band around your wrist and snap it when you find yourself wanting to pull or touching the hairs. It will take sooo much of your effort to stop but youll start feeling better about yourself when you see the hairs growing back.

Also: this type of thing is sometimes considered a form of obsessive compulsive disorder, or it may be brought on by stress. i'm no expert, but sometimes its too hard to fix this stuff by yourself. you may want to ask your friends and family to tell you when you are pulling if you don't realize it. i know it might be embarrassing but in the long run it will be worth it when you quit.
