Wireless Router issues, please help?

a little back story to help out here. We use centurylink as our ISP, and when we started out we had one of their 2wire modems which was named 2Wire362. We have since switched modems and now use a Linksys Cisco Wireless N Router which has a different name from the previous one.

This new router worked fine for months and just a couple of weeks ago we werent able to connect to it. on the list of wireless networks, the name of our new router is no longer there, but is replaced by the name of our old router and we can't connect to it with any of our devices. The signal is there and has a consistent 4-5 bar strength but we can't connect to it. the old router is not plugged in anywhere.

We have tried holding down the reset button for up to 60 seconds and nothing has happened with it, we've unplugged it and plugged it back in, we've done everything we can to troubleshoot this.

Any help short of buying a new router is much appreciated!

Once you reset your Linksys router you need to re- configure it and name your wireless network, if required you can setup security encryption as well. and then go back to your laptop and see if you can see the network. You can find Linksys configuration and setup details here http://www.mentorlog.com/2011/networkingwireless/h...

easily, it sounds to me like the two a foul configuration or the router is going undesirable. i might hit the "reset" button on the lower back of the router and initiate from scratch. If that doesnt paintings, i might evaluate a sparkling router. I rather have in no way heard of Echo existence, so i dont comprehend lots approximately that kind. i'm a Cisco guy, so i might advise Linksys router. I in no way have problems with Cisco kit. sturdy success
