Substitute Teacher Jobs?

Does anyone know of any substitute teaching jobs in Houston, TX without being certified? Please help....I have taken the ACP testing and I didn't pass. But I'm in need of a job until I'm able to pass the test. Any information would be helpful.....thanks.

Most school districts require that you be certified as a substitute. Often this requires 60 college credits and a security (criminal) check. Many students substitute on the days that they do not have class while they continue their studies.

You have my blessings. I substituted for 3 years before landing a real gig. Don't turn your back. Don't stand for any nonsense. Don't let more than one student out on a pass at a time. That does not mean one boy and one girl. It means one person. Leave detailed notes for the teacher. They are appreciated. On one day, I left the school in an ambulance and a "student" left in handcuffs.

It's complicated to stop being a replacement teacher if you're a just right substitute trainer. If you are good, then your fame will grow and more and more principals will put your identify on their lists. You can be working at all times and not have time for one more job. It you experience your substituting, it's going to also be difficult for you to go away it to take another job. That will be for those who failed to comprehend very so much about the different job, then that might discourage you from taking it simply to earn more money. To stop your substituting jobs, you request to be taken off the alternative teacher record of the entire faculties where you have finished substitute instructing. Hold all of your options open. Don't forget this can be a recession. Good good fortune.

Schools first hire based on education and teacher qualifications. Most substitute positions are filled either by recent graduates with a teacher's certificate or retired teachers looking for a few bucks. Only after those avenues are exhausted are others considered. Go to as many schools as possible and put your name on the substitutes list. Normally each school calls their own substitutes. Be available to teach a 9:00 class when the phone rings at 8:00 or later. Build a reputation for availability on short notice. Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised. Good luck!
