A question about thumbs-up points?
I know you get additional points for thumbs--ups when you get a best answer. I was wondering if you get any points when someone reads your answer after you've won, and gives you a thumbs-up then. I've found a few great answers through the "Discover questions" that sometimes appear at the bottom of the page. I'm hoping that the answerer gets a point when I express my approval.

The points continue until you reach 50 thumbs up. The status does not matter. I have no idea of what changes will be made with the new system.

Yes. You can get TUs and the 1 point at any time (up to 50 points anyway).
I've gotten quite a few "delayed" Thumbs Up point notifications from old Best Answers.
I also go out to Resolved questions & give TUs to Best Answers that I like.

Under the old rating system, yes, you get those points at ANY time that someone gives the Best Answer a thumbs up. Not sure what will happen once the new rating system is in place.
