Try and avoid any cheap brands that you might have never came across. Brands such as Loreal, Rimmel, NYC, MAC, Manhatan, Maybelline, Revlon are defenetaly safe. I must agree with the second person. Yes cheap brands and make up do have chemicals in them.

Ignore the first person!!!!!! Not all makeup brands are safe. Generally the cheap drugstore brands have all the crappy chemicals in them. I'm not sure if they have the brand called Pur Minerals in the UK but it's worth the look. It's 27 usd for their 3-1 makeup which is a concealer, foundation and finishing powder all in one. That is about 17.32 pounds. Now if you buy their kit it comes with their brush which you need to use it as a foundation. Pur Minerals doesn't have any harmful chemicals and it was formulated by dermatologists to be safe for the most sensitive skin, which I have.
Cat lady you are full of it. If you are a scientist then why do they allow a nail polish out on the shelves that causes CANCER!!!!! Dumb *****.

I agree with Miaka. Ignore the crazy cat lady. It's so obvious she doesn't know what she's talking about it isn't even funny. Many brands actually have harmful chemicals in them. The best ones for you are lines that only carry 100% mineral. Don't get the fake mineral crap that cheap brands sell as mineral makeup. Pur Minerals is a good line. Bare Minerals is also good but not as many people like it because it doesn't last.

They're all safe because they're all tested and have to pass strict standards. So none of them will be poisonous or toxic.
Ignore the second person, she's completely wrong!!!
Edit: What a load of deluded people!
I quote from the cosmetics products regulations act 2008:
"General safety requirement
4.—(1) No person shall supply a cosmetic product which may cause damage to human health when applied under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use, taking into account, in particular—
(a)the product’s presentation, .
(b)its labelling, .
(c)any instructions for its use and disposal, and .
(d)any other indications or information provided by the manufacturer or his authorised agent or by any other person responsible for placing the product on the market in the EEA. "
Just because companies are selling new 'natural mineral' makeups doesn't mean they're more safe, or that older ones are not safe. Ancient egyptians used makeup made out of lead, which is naturally occuring and very toxic!!
