Do any of you miss your childhood like this?

For some reason, I'm a very, very nostalgic person, and I'm only 17. I don't know where this comes from, and my only explanation could have something to do with being a writer and that whole subconscious imagination thing (though I don't write fantasy anymore). But I was wondering if any of you guys out there, writers in particular or just constant readers, really miss your childhood, when you really think about it?

The book (and movie) Bridge to Terabithia got me thinking about it all over again, about the magic of childhood and that whole living in a fantasy world completely of imagination, and it reminds me so much of certain times in my life that were just like that...and I really, really miss it. It's a very euphoric but also melancholic feeling, since it's not that I missed out on any of my childhood, I just miss it.

I'm only asking out of curiosity. And also, why do you or do you not miss it/feel nostalgic about your childhood?

Thanks in advance! As usual, I'll do my best to pick a best answer.

Cheers!

I miss the easiness and innocence of childhood and yes maybe it does have something to do with being a writer but because i have a six year old brother i am sort of able to do some things with him that mean i can get back to my childhood.

I am fascinated by the thought processes of children and have wrote a few short stories on the subject but as i write fantasy and real life i am able to re-live my childhood through my words which satisfies me enough not to miss it to much =)
