Chances at winning the power-ball lottery?
If I was to buy 8 sets of Power-ball numbers for 2 games in a week. What would be the chances of me winning something?
How would I make my chances greater at winning? People have won the lottery so there is a chance...

So I'm assuming you mean that you buy 8 tickets for the drawing on Wednesday, then you buy 8 tickets for the drawing on Saturday, right?
If so, you just need to realize that the odds of winning ANY prize is approximately 1 out of 32. So if you buy 16 tickets each and every week, ON AVERAGE you will win a prize once every 2 weeks.
Keep in mind that MOST of the time that you win a prize, it will only be $4.
So every week you spend $32, but you'll only win $4 about once every TWO weeks. It doesn't sound like such a great deal, does it? Sure - every now and then you'll get very lucky and win a little bit more. Perhaps you'll win $7 once every 20 weeks. (Still figuring these numbers based on 16 tickets per week.) Once in a great while you'll get VERY lucky and win $100. That will happen approximately once every 12 or 13 years.
The lottery is nothing more than a TAX on the poor and on the ignornat.
Forget ever winning anything more than $100. I'm serious. Do you realize that the next prize is a 1 out of about 649,000?!? That's a 1 out of 750 YEARS sort of event to hit that prize of $10,000!
You said, "People have won the lottery so there is a chance...." You say that as if to convince yourself that there is a REAL chance for you. I'm here to tell you, as much as you don't want me to, that your chance is for all practical purposes, ZERO. It's not a "fun" truth, but I promise you it's the truth nonetheless.

You would have a greater chance of dying in a car accident on the way to buy your ticket than your chance of winning the power-ball.
There is a chance of winning, but there is a much greater chance of dying ina car accident.
