What stops every All-Star joining the same team?

For example - Steve Nash joining the Heat. Obviously he would have to go for an extremely low salary as the 'BIG 3' have taken most of the cap space for Miami.

Is there a system in place where teams cannot sign a player for a lower salary than what they should be getting?

Eg. No less than what they were getting paid in their previous team (give or take a few million)

Update:

Edit - You guys don't get it... What stops Nash from accepting a $1 contract with the Miami Heat? Pretty sure that wouldn't affect the salary cap.

The players wouldn't want to do that. It's very little money. Those players would be heavily criticized. But supposing a group of five all stars were willing to take the veteran's minimum, I guess they could team up. The team where they go would have to have the roster space.

    Greed and Ego.

Especially the greed of their Agents, who gets 10% of what the player gets.

-There are minimum contracts. A player can't make under a certain amount, but that amount isn't fixed- it varies upon how many years that player has been in the league. For somebody (like Nash) who has been in the league 10+ years, the least he can sign for is a $1 or 2 M per year. Even rookies are guaranteed six-figures.
