Does digitally downloading full game from psn?

Does digitally downloading a full game from psn (ie: uncharted 2,which is 20 gb) take up 20 gb on the ps3 hdd

    whatever the size of the download, will be how much it takes from your remaining amount of GB. That's why I don't download full games on the psn, they cost the same but download really long

    An average game is 7-9 GB. I believe for example Infamous 2 is 7.2.

    I have never downloaded anything that big.
