What is your favorite piece of classical music?
Honestly, for me it is Rhapsody in Blue. Captures the entire atmosphere of a big, bustling, just all-around city (i.e. New York). It's mind-boggling, and it's just so beautiful as a piece of music. The other piece's I like are Thais: Meditation, Swan Lake, and pretty much every famous piece of classical music (thank iTunes for 100 Most Essential Pieces of Classical Music :D).
Anyway's, what's your favorite?

Ahh! Rhapsody in Blue is one of my favourites too! It makes me smile every time I hear it!
I remember when I was 12, my mom and I played a duet for two pianos of it.
Kudos to you!
But other than that, there are SO many pieces that I enjoy!
Well, Debussy is my favourite composer so anything by him. Chopin is also amazing. :)
The Nutcracker suite by Tchaikovsky is beautiful
The Planets by Gustav Holst
The famous Bach Toccata & Fugue in d minor
Beethoven's Symphony no. 5 (Although I'm not a huge Beethoven fan)
But I think my ultimate favourite is the Hungarian Rhapsody in c# minor by Franz Liszt. It's just so powerful! The reason why I like it so much is probably because as a young child, I remember watching this piece being performed by Bugs Bunny and the mouse. I was in complete awe the first time I saw it. But the orchestral version just blew me away.
Yay for classical music!

You really need to check out "The Depth Factor" meditation program, it's the best, it's been voted as the number 1 meditation program made so far. Here is their official web-site: http://www.thedepthfactor.net/
It combines binaural beats and ancient meditation techniques to deliver the best meditation experience. This is perfect course for a beginner or an intermediate. Good luck!

That is a very difficult question to answer to be honest. I am a fan of Rochmaninov's music. Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini is a favorite. I also like Prelude in G Minor. The pianist is Idil Biret and I love her playing. I listen to it almost daily. I love Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake like you do and his Nutcracker. I love his piano concerto's. They are dramatic and sweeping. And I like Mendelssohn's Italian and Scotttish symphonies.

I played Rhapsody in Blue as part of a Gershwin medley for a Symphonic Band, it was quite nice (: Well for me, my favorite composers are all French, so here's a quick list of my favorites:
1) Prelude a L'Apres-Midi d'un Faune -- Claude Debussy
2) Fantasie Impromptu -- Frederic Chopin
3) The Daphnis et Chloe Suite -- Maurice Ravel

That is a very broad question it truthfully changes from time to time. One day I'll enjoy a piano concerto and it'll be my favorite piece for a while, then it will be a symphony. It truly does with what mood I am in. Currently my favorite piece of classical music is Totentanz by Franz Liszt but I'm sure it will change soon, I will still enjoy the piece but it will not be my favorite.

Exit by Einaudi is quite touching to me, and it's my favorite. I like a lot of Einaudi.
I also like Yiruma's River Flows in You and Kiss the Rain a lot, and his other pieces.
But you're right, the famous classics are the best :)
