Do you take Animation School? If so, please answer?

If you take or have taken an animation school, such as in an university or college, how much experience did you get out of your time learning there? Who would you highly recommend animation school for? Any extra advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm just trying to get a closer prospective, before I consider anything serious in this field. Thank you.

I major in Animation at LCAD. The teachers that teach animation are Disney veterans; Dave Pruiksma and Dave Kuhn. They're trying to get other veterans out there to teach here. We also get pretty awesome guest speakers. Chris Sanders, etc.

I took the fundamentals of animation last year which focused on traditional animation and I learned A LOT. I went in class with no idea how to animate a thing and came out with a new passion for animation and skill. It's a lot of work though.

IF you want to focus on 3D animation, try Ringling College of Art and Design. They're #1 in digital animation and their program is hard to get into. They accept about 10% of applicants? Their students also went off to Dreamworks, Disney and other major studios. They have a record of alumni that won the Student Academy awards for best student animated short.

Other animation schools that are widely known is also CalArts (the Disney animation school) and Sheridan College in Canada. There's also SCAD, but I'm not sure how good their program is.
