Why do some people write BOOKS and such LO-O-O-NG stories to ask a question?

Is it really necessary to do that? Can't people be brief? I hate to click on a question and there's a full page biography...eh?

Update:

Well, we all have some explaining to do...Just some I have taken the time to read just trail on aimlessly, and even talk about subject not pertaining to the initial question asked in the title. Not "nitt-picking" here. Just thought I'd ask and get some other opinions...Thanks

Update 2:

I tend to skip the questions that contain life stories. Those people are not listening to answers. They just love to hear themselves talk and want confirmation of their already made-up minds. Or, they are in serious need of a good therapist. I am that but I charge more than they could ever afford and unless it is a real cry for help about a life and death situation, I simpy move on.

By the way, I have had 4 books published and why people write real books is partly because people will pay to read what they have to say and partly becaseu they believe that their words are important which is verified by the publisher who pays them to publish the book.

    That's a bit long...

But yeah, if I see a huge page of writing I flick to another question. Or I tell them it's too long... there was a question earlier about a guy asking what sort of underwear girls like, and there was a HUUUGE flipping page about it! It's a pair of pants boy!

Maybe its because their problem needs some explaining. Their problems are more complex than a few sentences.

Perhaps it's because they are intelligent enough to string together more than three sentences.

    That's a good question.

I also hate that especially when they do not use paragraphs. It's extremely hard to read.
