Did Haleakala really erupt?
My sister's friend told me it erupted on June 2nd.

Not that I hea bout, last time erupt for Haleakala in 1790, but still consider it "active", but not rite now, ok? Peace and aloha to you!

No. HaleakalÄ hasn't erupted since the 17th century (they prior said 1790, but it's believed to be even earlier).
Halema‘uma‘u Crater on the Big Island (at Mt. KÄ«lauea) has had recent activity, however, including in June of this year. There's probably some confusion with the name of what's active.

It's still considered an active volcano if I'm not mistaken.

NO WAY !!! Kilauea is the only active volcano in Hawaii and it's not on Maui, it's on the Big Island of Hawaii. Your friend is really messed up.
