Has any one had a long time friend go all Christian on them ?

What I mean is, we were friends for 20 years since we were both 12 years old. I have always been an atheist and he always had a belief in god, this was never an issue. In the past few years he has deepened his faith and I have supported him in this. But for the last year he kept wanting to bring the bible over and would say things like "I don't want you to burn in hell". I told him my belief in no god was as strong as his in Jesus. We never fought over this, but he decided to drop me as a friend. I am happy for him because his life seems to be in better order. Should I feel a little upset about this ? He was and told me he considered me his best friend. Out of respect I am leaving him be and have not talked to him since last year. Kind of just realized I am angry about this.

I'm sorry I have to say get over it. They're is always going to be people who are going to push thier religion on you. It's life and that's how people are. Okay, yes, when he dropped you as a friend over that...You do..Have a right to be upset. I mean you guys were close. But, 1) He really only did it because he cared. 2) he took it back, he decided: what the hay" and took you back as a friend even though you're an Atheist and he's a believes in Jesus. And believe it or not that's hard for some people. Religion is pretty important this day and age, So here: Get over it and suck it up. You guys have been friends for 20 years. If he is willing to look past you being an Atheist you should be willing to look past him believeing in Jesus. Don't let this be you two's undoing. He only did it because he cared. Don't get too mad at him.

Just try and see why he believes in God so much. What I mean by that is ask him to show you "proof" of why he believed in God so deeply?
