Is it possible for someone to be...?

Is it possible for someone to be too nice? I'm in the process of divorce and have met someone who is EXTREMELY nice to me and he goes above and beyond to make me smile. I'm leery because I'm not use to ANYONE being so nice without having an ulterior motive.

Do you think I'm being paranoid or cautious?

Update:

This guy and I have been getting acquainted for the past 2 months; I find it quite premature for him to ask me to go on trips, him buying me gifts, and he wants to take me to meet his family. I'm really not use to any of this.

Give it time. he might just be a nice guy, or he is just totally different than your ex and you are not use to it.

It takes a while to unlearn old habits. Take it slowly, give yourself enough time to see what happens in a variety of situations with this new guy. If he's after something, or expecting something, it will surface, in time.
