Is the mileage for the 2001 and 2002 PT Cruiser stored in the odometer or in the vehicle computer?
I bought a PT Cruiser that clearly had its odometer OR its computer replaced at some point and has the wrong mileage. The title shows more miles than the odometer. Based on repair receipts, I can get a good idea of how many miles should be on it and so I'd actually like to add mileage. I found an odometer with higher miles at a junk yard, is the mileage in the computer or the digital odometer?

It is stored in the body and engine controllers. If you want to know whether or not the instrument or odometer has been changer simply put a scanner on the car and read the odometer reading from either computer.

I recently read where the mileage is stored in one of the onboard computers, forget which one though.
