why are christians told to eat pig and all other 'dirty' animals?

is God fickle minded ? no, of course not

in genesis, at creation, adam and eve were ... vegetarians.

then noah's flood, the whole world died in the flood except for noah and family, 8 folks.

after the flood, God changed the diet of humans ... animals are given for food.

then moses came ...

God gave moses the Law for every believer which includes the Diet Law.

certain animals are ... clean

while certain animals are ... dirty, everyone can eat except believers.

then Jesus came ...

the Diet Law is changed ... again.

from eden - vegetarian

to noah's time - eat animals,

to moses time - eat ONLY clean animals,

to current -- eat ANYTHING that moves.

i would like to note that the Diet Law changed from vegetarianism to .. eat anything that moves ... BECAUSE ... the depravity of the human race has fallen so low , therefore our DIET should reflect our animal appetites .. like animals ... humans have become.

anyone is free to comment and to give your input, especially christians.

shoot ...

Update:

yuri -- you seem to have forgotten in your arrogance that the Torah is God's Word for humans not only jews.

Update 2:

senator -- why are you bleating instead of discussing.

Update 3:

rational gunther -- adam and eve didn't have dietary laws ? please read genesis .. will you.

Update 4:

creation -- hehe, happy chomping ... chomp, chomp, aaaaaah .... buuuurp

An alternative explanation is that with Jesus there was a fundamental shift in focus from the physical to the spiritual.

Adam and Eve didn't have dietary laws. There was just not a need to kill animals for food until the fall. Abel, one of Adam and Eve's sons, sacrificed animals to God. There are animals on the ark for food, so I'm not sure where you get the idea that man wasn't to eat animals prior to this.

Moses was given a dietary law for the Jewish people, to keep them separate from the pagans they lived around and among in the desert. Other laws about dress, behavior, and other such things served the same purpose. These laws were critical to maintaining ritual purity for those people.

When Jesus fulfilled the Jewish law, he ended the need for ritual purity; all had equal access to God. There was no longer a need for any of those laws of dress, diet, etc.

None of that is at all right. And of course no quotes.

There is NO compulsion pro or con on food and this a basis of Christian morality.

5 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. 6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.

10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt?

    Yes, WHY THE CONTEMPT ?

When will these Christians understand that the law doesn't apply to them and the Torah has little to nothing to do with their religion?

There are biological reasons that cover humanity's dietary processes that are more reasonable than "A magic man in the sky said so".
