Personal Settings (Customer-Programmable Features) in the EVIC (Electronic Vehicle Information Center.

Personal Settings allows the driver to set and recall features when the transmission is in PARK.

Press and release the MENU button until Personal Settings displays in the EVIC.

Use the SCROLL button to display:

Turn Headlights On with Remote Key Unlock

When this feature is selected, the headlights will activate and remain on for up to 90 seconds when the doors are unlocked with the RKE transmitter. To make your selection, press and release the FUNCTION SELECT button until “OFF,” “30 sec.,” “60 sec.,” or “90 sec.” appears. You will want to select "OFF".

All it potential is that your motor vehicle locks and your headlights are working on an identical circuit; they the two run off of your motor vehicle battery. So once you launch/lock the doors, a small quantity of skill is diverted form the headlights into the lock, inflicting the lighting fixtures furniture to dim. by the way, an identical difficulty occurs in older properties the place each and every thing is powered via a million circuit. in case you turn on the television in one among those properties, the lighting fixtures furniture will dim for extremely; your motor vehicle is an identical state of affairs.
