Usa make safer products than china?
in the USA, flame redardent, chemical bulletin 117, is required to be used in all furniture that contains foam for the purposes of slowing down fire hazard from cigarettes on furniture. This requirement was established since 1970s for all products made for the usa. The chemical lobby was successful in putting this requirement into law, good money maker for them. Recently, independent labs tested this chemical applied to foam and found that the chemical flakes when it dries and spreads into the home. flakes that are small is on the carpet on the floor and get breath into the human lungs and enters the blood stream of people, especially when kids play on the floor, they pick up this chemical which causes cancer. a blood sample taken from children and adults found this chemical in human blood. 2nd point is the independent lab tested the chemical and found it provides no safety from furniture catching on fire. It does not provide any safety from burning cigarettes to cause the furniture from catching on fire. it has been all a phony and fake product. the chemical industry has protected this lie all these years and the usa regualtors are complicit to accept industry reasons without independent verification. as you can see from this example, usa government protect businesses and not safety of citizens. So now, those that complain about shoddy products from china, look in the mirror, your own government is just as bad or worst. usa legalizes cancer causing chemicals exposed to the population, imagine that, you people are immoral, and you complain about china? look in the mirror you whitieshitwhole.

First, let me state that your rant was a very good attempt at using English. Since I cannot speak a word of Chinese, I commend your efforts. However, your argument is invalid. That our government might do a shoddy job of policing our native industries, in no way justifies your conclusion that we should neither expect nor desire good products from outside sources. The bad products coming from China are lambasted as inferior due to shoddy workmanship or materials, or as dangerous because of the nearly complete lack of effort by the Chinese government to police the use of materials or ingredients that our illegal in our country, for finished products intended to be sold in our country. We have many recent examples, such as the recent incidents of melamine being added to baby formula and to pet food. It is commendable that the Chinese government executes the offenders in short order, after an investigation finds that the products caused death and determines that the factory owners or managers knew of the illegal subsitutions. However, punishment after the crime is not as good as prevention of the crime. People died and pets died.
I never buy anything made in China, if I can find another source. I recently shopped at four separate stores looking for American made straws, because of my concern for my family's safety, regarding what chemicals might be illegally part of the materials (such as lead in the coloring) until I found Glad straws at Publix grocery stores. That is the lengths to which I will go to avoid Chinese made products that affect safety. In regard to textiles, my concern is with slave labor, so I avoid Chinese-made products, whenever possible -- my favored brand of shoes is New Balance (550?) because the shoes are comfortable, durable, high quality, and the labor is mostly American, even if the materials are not.

Only rich people can afford to buy only American products. Most of the stuff my family buys comes from either China or South Korea. I'm happy to save money.

Everything is made in China or by China in their African operations. Or at least a part of everything. You have no option.
