Why can't I access certain web sites?
I recently had to restore my computer to factory settings (Vista/Internet Explorer7). Now I can't access some web sites. Pop-up msg says "Internet Explorer cannot open this site". I called one of the sites (a bank) and they said that something in my settings is blocking access. Most sites open just fine so... any ideas what I can do? Thanks a lot!

I have 2 suggestions that would hopefully get you happily and safely accessing all the sites you want.
1) DON'T use IE! For the love of god download ANY other browser: FireFox, Chrome even Opera are all suitable and at least 2 of them run faster than IE.
2) If its down to your Anti virus software stop using it, especially if your paying for it! Instead download Avast Anti Virus. I assure you their free version will do all you need, it doesn't ever get in the way or bungle things up and is very reliable. Further more i know this Anti virus integrates with both FireFox and Chrome for certain, using a simple, handy, unintrusive traffic light type indicator so you have some idea about the reputation of a sites safety.
In fact i can honestly say id recommend just doing both of these things any how. For me and most people i know in fact these are perhaps the 2 most crucial steps in setting up a new computer, they are done right away as soon as possible.

I hope your Anti virus software blocks some web pages. For ex. If you are using MACAFEE anti virus the site will block most of the sites.
I hope it will helps you.
Thanks
